Founded in 2012 by Steve Van Straten, NV Technologies Fire and Security began with a simple need—a security system for his tavern, The Avenue Bar, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. After experiencing the quality and reliability of the system firsthand, Steve put it on full display. Before long, requests poured in from neighboring car dealerships, restaurants, farms, schools, and commercial businesses looking for similar solutions.

As demand grew, so did the company. In 2018, NV Technologies Fire and Security expanded beyond security systems into fire protection, becoming an authorized EST Fire Alarm Dealer. This milestone enabled the company to design, install, inspect, and service complete fire alarm systems, further strengthening its commitment to life safety.

In 2022, NV Technologies Fire and Security established its headquarters at 1751 Velp Avenue in Howard, Wisconsin, adjacent to The Avenue Bar and conveniently located between Highways 41 and 43. The new facility positioned the company for continued growth and expanded service capabilities.

Today, majority owner Amy Coté—who began her career in the fire and security industry in 2008—leads NV Technologies Fire and Security as a certified Woman-Owned Small Business. Amy is passionate about helping hospitals, nursing homes, and healthcare organizations throughout Wisconsin navigate regulatory inspections conducted by CMS, The Joint Commission, DNV, and state Departments of Health. Through code-compliant inspections, testing, and documentation, NV Technologies Fire and Security helps healthcare providers maintain environments free from life safety deficiencies.

NV Technologies Fire and Security is proud to employ union sprinkler fitters and apprentices and is an active signatory contractor with UA Sprinkler Fitters Local 669. Our team is dedicated to investing in skilled trades and developing the next generation of fire protection professionals.
